Spying on felllow EU member states, EU institutions, corporate competitors and the private communications between European citizens has to be the "Last Straw" as far as British EU membership is concerned. The European Commission should invoke article 50 of the EU treaties and Expell the UK forthwith....and make 59% of the British people and Nigel Farage happy bunnies.. The European would then be given carte Blanche to pursue its job destroying protectionist policies unfettered by "Anglo-Saxon foot -dragging". Datasharing between EU governments is...On security.
Datasharing between EU governments is almost certainly one big leak leak. If say dodgy countries like Bulgaria, Rumenia and the EU's latest basketcase Croatia (plus a lot others) have access to the info. It is nearly as good as put it directly on the internet. In those kind of countries there is always sombody to be found who for a few 100 Euro can get you the info. You can buy legal passports for a bit more.

The US clearly doesnot have its internal security in order. Wikileaks date 3-4 million people have access (in the digital age). Simply that way it becomes an issue of when not if. Same here a lot of things that come out now were not necessary for this guy to know. He was clearly not coordinating the whole US national security.
Riknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36227136.post-58531769173767111722013-07-01T16:10:35.944+01:002013-07-01T16:10:35.944+01:00This has been playing for almost 2 decades now. If you have/had 'human rights', freedoms stuff, national security as part of your jobdescription (as politicus) you must have been completely blind and deaf (forgot dumb) to have missed it.

I always understood that the UK was the junior partner in this thing. Like part of the hardware there.
In that respect the UK can be glad that the fall out its way is still very limited.
Snowden is clearly completely focussed on the US (and the constitutionality there).
