The FT reveals that Joseph Daul - the man just sworn in as head of the EPP - is under investigation for fraud. The investigation centres on the alleged diversion of €16m in government farming funds to finance the French farmers’ union FNSEA in the 1990s.
The EU tells off Russia for turning off its oil supplies to Belarus. EU Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs said "We have told them that the disruptions to oil supplies we have seen in the last few days must never, never happen again".
