The jury cited Open Europe's "work on the EU budget and the Common Agricultural Policy for its recommendations that more be spent on the weaker countries and on research and development." It also said that we have
"produced steady, perceptive commentary on the eurozone, particularly in a report on Spanish banks in April, and a warning of the costs of losing Greece from the euro. Its work on preserving the freedom of movement of EU citizens in an era of rising public hostility was well timed, as was its 'Trading Places' report.Our heartfelt thanks to the jury and to Prospect.
